Remember the four PEGS: principles from which to grow an effective ministry?
PEGS stands for PRAY, ENGAGE, GO, and SHARE.
Pray -generally: because “OUR GOD REIGNS”; -specifically: so that the “Lord of Harvest might send forth workers…” Prayer & Worship at the heart of everything that happens.
Engage -with every level of local community life: social, political, physical; -with being the Message of God in a relevant and understandable way.
Go -Seeing mission as a way of life… as our normal “family business”:. That means –specifically: being and sending missionaries, and planting churches.
Share -with every possible partner in the Gospel to bring the harvest home
And consider, finally, some words from Paul’s letter to that wonderful young church at Ephesus:
“It was Jesus who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
We are all in this together, working for one purpose in our different ways.
Let Christ be exalted.
